Mahipatsinh Chavda (Born 10 February 1967) is an Indian academic currently serving as the 15th Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Gujarat, India.[1][2]

Mahipatsinh chavda was born on 10 February 1967 to Ramuba and Dansinh Chavda, in KshatriyaKaradia Rajput family in Pachhegam village(Bhavnagar)[3]
After receiving secondary and higher secondary school education from Vallabhipur, Chavda pursued bachelor’s (BA) in 1987 from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. He obtained master’s degree(MA) and MPhil in Psychology from Sardar Patel University, Anand in 1989 and 1990 respectively. He received the Doctorate degree(PhD) in Psychology in the year 2003 from saurashtra University, Rajkot. He had been Gold-medalist throughout his academic career.

Chavda is a firm believer of discipline and best known for his bold and decisive style of working which also gained traction among others.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
He is on leave from his position of Principal and Head of Department of L. D. Arts College(Estd:1937)[13] and co-ordinator of Indira Gandhi National Open University and Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University.[14] During his tenure, college received NAAC ‘A’ grade accreditation[15] and stood among the top ranking arts colleges in India.[16][17]
Along with academic experience of over 32 years,he has also served as dean (Faculty of Arts)[18] and chairman (Board of Studies) at Gujarat University. Chavda has been an active academic senate and executive council[19] member of several universities for over a decade. He has been serving as panel member of various central & state government organisations, forums and committees including Presidential nominee committee(MHRD),UGC,NAAC,National forensic sciences laboratory & university, Madhya-Pradesh public service commission,Chhattisgarh public service commission,GPSC,Gaun seva pasandagi mandal,IJIP,Indian science congress etc.
Chavda’s areas of special expertise in teaching and research include Human Resource Development,Forensic Psychology and Social Psychology.
